I ended up creating a native iOS and Android app, since it's more accessible for most people. There's been A LOT of changes compared to this old version. There's also more games in the app.

Here's the link to each store:

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Wimbo.NotesChords&pli=1

ABOUT THIS GAME:

Connect any MIDI keyboard or use the On-screen keyboard in order to play.

Survive for as long as you can before the notes and chords push you off the cliff.

Become a master at finding any note and chord on the piano at lightning speed.

Switch between ABC and DoReMi from the settings menu.

If you have any trouble connecting, or any ideas on how to make the game better, please leave a comment! I appreciate any feedback :)

NOTES:

  • MIDI connectivity currently only works on Chrome, Opera and Edge.
  • No mobile compatibility yet.
  • My high score is 167. Let me know if you beat it ;)

One suggestion (for a future revision): the sounds should have the same pitch as the notes being played.

Thanks for the feedback! And for playing! :)

Cheers!

Interesting. I tried to install on my Android tablet, but it claims it is not supported. Also, I want to play with MIDI keyboard, but the description says it's not yet implemented. Well, I may try again someday in the future.

I had a lot of issues with Android so I kinda abandoned it and focused almost completely on iOS. It works really well on any iOS device I've tried.

Thank you for this game! I'm always on the lookout for game to play with midi keyboard or controller, and it's always fun to try. I had a small issue when I played on my browser (both chrome and Firefox with jazz-midi) with my keyboard : every note played twice, once when pressed, and once when released. I found a workaround that was that I should press the key when a correponding note first appears, and release it when I see it a second time but it makes my fingers all confused 😅!

Thanks again for the game!

Hi! I don't why I completely missed your comment! Thank you so much for the feedback! I forgot about this web version, since I've been focused on the iOS version for a while now. Just curious, is a web version better for you than an iOS or Android version? Also, are you a student/learner or are you a teacher?

Thanks again! :D

Hello ! Thank you for answering!
I'm really just a learner, and even that word might be a bit strong. Hobbyist ? Dabbler ? My partner is the musician in our family, and I just like using her midi keyboard for games to try a understand music a bit better. Regarding your platform question, I think for me personally, the web version was great because I could play with the midi keyboard plugged in. I know some MIDI controller can be plugged into phones, but none that I own (I think). So I would personnaly rather tend toward a computer version (web), but any would be fun obviously.

Keep doing a great job !!

That's awesome! Thanks for the info :)

I made something I think will help you. It's a guide of all the best free resources I could find to learn piano / music on your own. I structured it similar to the way I teach, but you can do it in any order you wish as well.

I hope it helps!

really well done!

I don't know anything about music or piano, but I still enjoyed the game even though I was randomly pressing keys.

Amazing Idea!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
